Winter Gritting
How neighbourly are you, I am looking for a small group of volunteers who are willing to be available for the benefit of our whole community.
Should we have another bad winter I am proposing that we have a contact number for the elderly to ring and we will get someone round to clear their footpath and grit where necessary so they are not inconvenienced by the weather. I do have District Council approval and all liabilities are covered.
If you are interested then either give me a ring or drop me an e-

Wistow Parish Council back out due to COSTS
Costs would have been £250 for a bin, if a second one was necessary?
£98 to refill bin with grit/salt.
YET, other Parish Councils are asking parishioners where and how many bins!!

Don’t take No for an answer
Never taking no for an answer paid off for Wistow . Because of my initiative to pursue the self help winter gritting the CEF has given funding to the Parish Council to have two Grit/Salt bins placed in the village. I propose to raise the issue at the next PC meeting to get the siting of these bins correct. If you have any thoughts as to where these should be! then drop me an email or give me a call. My first priority spot would be Pinfold Hill, Garmancarr Lane junction as this is notoriously bad in winter.
